Don't be afraid to stone wall off farming eco and drop defensive Castles. Enemy Cavalry Archer and/or Hussar raids can do a lot of damage to you. Your heavy cavalry is insanely strong, but slow. But you need to be aware that between those moments, there are points at which Teutons are vulnerable, in particular against high mobility compositions. Similarly, the spike from Cavalier + treb in early imp is no joke, as is the spike when you finally do get to Paladin or Ironclad Siege + infantry. Your Castle Age push has the potential to be absolutely lethal and is one to work towards. Early game is clearly not where Teutons shine, so your priority there is to stay alive and as undamaged as possible.

One last thing I want to mention is the importance of power spikes and Teuton vulnerability between those spikes. Teuton paladin is slow, but otherwise absolutely devastating.

In terms of troop combination, I'd almost always say Knight/Monk/Siege in Castle and then transition in imp depending on matchup, either towards infantry + siege or doubling down into Paladin if your Knight mass is still alive. Cheap farms means more on food and gold than other civs can get away with, tankier Knights means you'll trade better than you normally would against other Knights or counter-units, conversion resistance means the Monk counter is a lot less effective against you than it normally is.Īdd to that your own monks are very decent and adding siege is something you're going to want to do in lategame anyway and you have a very, very strong Castle Age push that still allows you to transition if you don't get the kill. Once you get to Castle, as others have pointed out, Teutons are very very good at the Knight + Monk + Siege push. Cheap farms means you can shave a vill off the classic 26-28 pop FC and get there comfortably with only 7 on wood in Dark Age. Any easily wallable map would probably work too.īuild orders: Teuton power spikes aren't really in the early game, so if you're on a map where you can go Fast Castle, go Fast Castle. I'm not much of an Arena player, but there are only so many bans and I see Teutons as a decent pick when Hideout is in the map pool. Maps: As said, Teutons shine on closed maps. r/projectceleste - Age of Empires Online Official Forums - Bug Reporting/Ask for HelpĪrchive of Old/Inactive Channels - WIP - here Other AoE Communities Microsoft Store - AoE2 Definitive Edition. No streams are currently live.\n Play Online
